Capability Scotland Edinburgh

Our purpose designed Edinburgh Hubs are based at Riccarton and Craigmillar and offer different experiences and day opportunities to disabled people with complex care needs.

At Riccarton we support individuals to access a range of therapeutic and support activities,
which enhances their health and wellbeing.  Some of the support offered includes:

  • State-of-the-art sensory and interactive spaces enabling sensory experiences through mediums such as storytelling, communication book bags and story massage
  • Rebound therapy
  • Exercise, mobility and postural management
  • Spa - footspas, massage, pamper
  • Gardening activities within our new, fully  accessible sensory garden.
  • Cooking, baking and smoothie-making in our sensory kitchen

Our customers can be supported either in our purpose-designed, fully accessible therapeutic and sensory hub with fully accessible facilities or to access community projects and venues, using local bus services to travel into Edinburgh City Centre

We support individuals with all aspects of their daily living, promoting independence and
self-confidence as well as helping people achieve their positive outcomes.

At Craigmillar, we offer accessible arts through the art room and gallery and assistive and augmentative technology through the digital suite as well as support within the community to access various sports and recreational facilities.

At both hubs, we support individuals with all aspects of their daily living.
