"I enjoy making an impact on the lives of others. It is great seeing the progress the people I support are making. Being in this job has changed my life as well. I love it."

Alison, Support Worker, joined Capability Scotland in May 2018.

At Capability Scotland we understand our greatest asset is our people. Join us in our mission to support disabled people to live happy and fulfilled lives.

We provide support to disabled people across Scotland and our vacancies can be found here. Most of our services employ a variety of staff so we have vacancies to fit a range of skill sets.

The customer truly is at the heart of what we do so it is no surprise the majority of our workforce are care staff. When we are recruiting for frontline care staff, previous experience is desirable, but what is really important is that you share our values. If you see a role you are interested in but you do not feel you have the relevant experience you should apply, explaining what your values are and why you would be great in the role, or call the service for an informal discussion in the first instance.

Industry leading in our training, we will support and develop you through on the job training, expert-led sessions and e-learning. We will also support and fund you to do your SVQ. This year we supported over 30 new staff members with an SVQ qualification.

In order to demonstrate our commitment to delivering the best working environment for our staff, Capability Scotland has signed up to the Fair Work Framework. The Fair Work Framework defines fair work through the five dimensions of Effective Voice, Opportunity, Security, Fulfilment, and Respect. We recognise that, as well as being the right thing to do, fair work can deliver significant benefits, particularly in relation to motivation, innovation, productivity and health and wellbeing.

Capability Scotland is a proud member of the Disability Confidence Scheme which commits to employ, keep and develop the abilities of its disabled staff.
