About our School

The Service at Stanmore supports children and young people who have complex additional support and exceptional health care needs. The service has the capacity to assess and meet the holistic, educational, allied health and social care needs of children and young people whenever those needs arise throughout the whole year. We place a significant emphasis on Getting it Right for Every Child by placing them and their families at the centre of every aspect of their care.

We are looking to recruit a committed Principal Teacher who is willing to apply new learning with enthusiasm. They should be confident and able to demonstrate they are an experienced and innovative practitioner who will take on a lead role in curricular development and assist in the leadership of aspects of school life.

They should have a sound and detailed knowledge and understanding of the relevant aspects of the Curriculum for Excellence 3-18 as well as possessing good leadership skills to deliver on improvement priorities and be able to demonstrate they have a commitment to the vision, values and core priorities in the development of education, teaching and learning which meets the needs of all pupils.

Key Requirements

  • Registered with the GTCS
  • Knowledge of Curriculum for Excellence and GIRFEC
  • Have experience of working with children with additional support needs is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Willingness to undertake any personal development opportunities
